Remembering Write Now
At the Jack Studio Theatre our Write Now Festivals produced exciting new work by playwrights connected to south-east London.
This short video also gives you a brief reminder of some of our Write Now productions and playwrights.
The Process
Each year we received hundreds of script submissions, and from these we chose plays for full-scale productions and staged readings.

In selecting scripts, we looked for plays that engaged with how we live today, and the Festival brought to life different stories that reflected our culture and society, giving a platform to many new and distinct voices.
The Work
Write Now produced 19 full-length plays and 33 shorts. If you want to have a look at these again, you can visit our Writers’ Page. Click through on any of the writers’ images and you’ll be taken to a page where there is an extract of their winning play for you to read: https://brockleyjack.co.uk/write-now-playwrights/
There is a real variety of playwriting talent on these pages – and many of our playwrights have gone on to pursue careers in television, radio and on the national stage. We hope you will enjoy having a look through and dipping into these wonderful scripts.

We’ll be sharing some upcoming new writing with you soon.
