Katie sees flowers where others see weeds.
In the corner of a seedy dive bar or a sweaty basement gig, she falls in love with a man’s potential. When her romantic life unmistakably unfolds into a pattern of one disastrous project after another, it’s time to get clean.
Reluctantly embarking on a wellness retreat, Katie finds herself alone—single, for the first time in… forever.
The Project is a different kind of love story, posing the question: what truths do we conceal, even from ourselves?
Presented by Greatest Hits Productions, this is the latest play from emerging actor and writer Shannon Kurlander, whose most recent work, Visiting Hours, debuted at The Koppel Project Hive.
Press for this production
‘It is a heartfelt performance beautifully delivered and director Lydia McKinley keeps her on the move. The result is more than a monologue as, even if they are not there in the flesh, the people Katie talks about can be heard as distant voices… one can only hope this beautifully staged Greatest Hits Productions piece – the set by Ellie Wintour is dominated by a large sphere at the back which changes colour as Katie’s mood swings fits the Studio space perfectly – is seen elsewhere . The current series of short runs at the Jack has come up with another intriguing show and what Katie did next is well worth discovering. ★★★★ Reviewsgate
