December 2020. Against the backdrop of the challenging Christmas season, marked by the ongoing pandemic, the female family home gazes upon the looming walls of HMP Pentonville.

A teenage girl pines over a phone that never rings as she waits for her father to reach out with his one daily call from the prison opposite their family home.  When this never comes, the family are left to speculate at what’s really happened behind Her Majesty’s walls.

In The Shadow Of Her Majesty offers a thought-provoking perspective on the justice system through the eyes of women on the outside, some have suffered violence and harassment, and others have loving ties to the men behind the walls they see every day.

Join us on a journey of resilience and empowerment as this family of women – daughters, sisters, mothers and auntie – navigate a landscape coloured by past grievances. In The Shadow Of Her Majesty is a powerful examination of forgiveness, redemption, and the enduring power of the human spirit

Lois Tallulah (writer & director) is an award winning film director, winning best Female Film at IndieX Film Festival, Vegas Movie Awards and Independent Shorts Awards, as well as receiving an Honoured Film Maker Award at One Reeler Shorts and an official selection at both Melbourne and Sydney’s Lift Off Festival for her first short EB & FLO. Life’s a Drag was Lois’ theatre directorial debut, which transferred to the Jack after its performances as Theatre Peckham as part of their Fringe Festival.
