Ever made the mistake of over promising something? Like saying that you’ve written an entire musical about the history of Hip Hop, when you haven’t! Well G has…
Meet G, a fast-talking daughter of Lewisham. With the help of her friend P, can she overcome the chaos of home life… spellings, the inner demon Negs… spellings, her mother… spellings. G has Missy Elliott, her spelling answer to everything, or is she?
The Company:
Doragine immersed herself in the vibrant hip-hop scene of the 1980s as a street dancer, forming an all-female breakdance crew. Highlights include competing in the inaugural DMC Hip-Hop Competition at Brixton Academy. Transitioning to theatre, she performed at prestigious London venues and taught Hip-Hop dance to young adults. Doragine supported UK female rap artists and performed alongside Chaka Khan. She also served as creative director for “Spiritual Soul” at Brixton Electric.
Penny lives in Crofton Park, fabulously dyslexic, she met Genie on Chelwood Nursery pick-ups, bonding over our love of the Arts, me costume, her dance. Quirky thing about me is I designed a method to understand Times Tables, despite not even getting a grade at Maths CSE level (showing my age there).
